Painting and decorating is a finishing trade encompassing both residential and commercial areas. It can include new constructions as well as restoration work and as such, requires candidates with a creative nature and demands a good eye for detail. Delivered through an apprenticeship arrangement face-to-face at our training centre through block release training with a mixture of classroom delivery and practical development and assessment in our workshops. Block training enables students to focus on the particular aspect of the qualification they are working on and allows project work to be completed over the duration of the block. The qualification covers a wide variety of skills such as safety, handling tools, equipment and materials, to painting with brush, roller and spray. Treatment of lead and asbestos, graffiti removal, wallpaper, texture, and decorative coatings. The delivery is split into 6 blocks of training, which are delivered throughout your apprenticeship, this compliments the skills and knowledge acquired through working in the industry during this period. We also have a Group Training Organisation that employs painting apprentices to supply to painting companies who need apprentices and assist in on-the-job training.
Mode of delivery: Face-to-face; Delivery location: Maylands
