This qualification defines the skills and knowledge required of an engineering tradesperson - fabrication within metal, engineering, manufacturing and associated industries. The qualification has been specifically developed to meet the needs of apprentices in the above trade. The qualification packaging has been developed on an assumption that competency will be developed through an integrated combination of on and off-the-job learning strategies such as those delivered through a formal apprenticeship. The qualification may also be achieved through formal skills recognition assessment processes.

K.L MILLS & N.A MILLS T/A NAM Training facilitate apprenticeships in MEM31922 Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding). These are delivered by a combination of on and off the job training and assessment at the apprentices’ workplace in employer provided venues. Units of competency are selected to meet workplace and industry standards. Training is delivered face to face, one on one or groups of apprentices, depending on apprentices’ and workplace needs. Our trainer negotiates the training and assessment arrangements with enterprise representatives who are responsible for current work skills training in the workplace, and with site management officials where applicable. Some of the apprenticeship may be achieved by formal skills recognition processes, such as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) where suitable. Apprentices may take 6-48 months to complete the apprenticeship. The enrolment term depends on the current skills and knowledge of the apprentice and is negotiated with the apprentice and the employer.
