Facilities include extensive garden spaces for design practice, computer labs with contemporary software and dedicated sheltered nursery areas. Students can learn through application of hands-on skills in an environment that reflects current industry practices and simulates a real-life workplace experience.

As part of their Murdoch campus studies, students propagate natives, herbs and some exotic plants suitable to WA's climate. These plants are then prepared at the on-campus nursery and greenhouse for retail sales at the Student Garden Centre Plant Sale which is open to the general public for a short time each May and November, giving students the ability to satisfy the retail skill building requirements of their horticulture course.
